Portugal Green Walks - web pages and SEO blog posts

Portugal Green Walks wanted someone who specialised in SEO content and could identify with their cycling clients. The project was online content for a new cycling holiday. It included web pages and SEO blog posts, aimed at driving more traffic to the website, plus essential information for their client roadbook.

Fatigue Free Futures - case studies

Fatigue Free Futures is a National Lottery Funded group of specialist practitioners helping people with chronic fatigue conditions to get their lives back on track. I was asked to write participant case studies sharing their results from the programme. These were to attract new participants for the future and to help secure ongoing funding.

Net Zero Barnsley - case studies and blog posts

Building on the success of the Net Zero Accelerator, the Net Zero Barnsley programme offered local businesses 1-1 coaching, workshops, and funding to help reduce carbon emissions. I was commissioned to write a series of six SEO blog posts, and six business case studies.

Haven - new web pages

This Sheffield based charity supports children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. We worked together on content for several years. When the team renewed their branding, I was invited to write content for the new website. The web pages needed to be written in a trauma informed space for families to access and find support.

The Business Village - case studies and SEO blog posts

The Business Village provides office space, business support, and collaborative networks. I was contracted to write ongoing tenant case studies and SEO blog posts on a range of business topics. The aim was to provide helpful information to businesses, drive traffic to the website, and attract new tenants.

Alpkit blog post for the ‘Treasured Moments’ section of their website

Alpkit, approached me to write a ‘treasured moment’ article for their website. I had lots of fun putting together a story about bike packing in the Outer Hebrides. The Net Zero Accelerator - case studies and SEO blog posts

I was invited to pitch to write marketing content for this project. The work included 8 business case studies and 4 blog posts sharing practical net zero information. The content was also repurposed for social media and press releases, and the project won an FSB Local Government Award.

Safe and Supported - keyword research and content editing

Philippa is a Bristol based transformational life coach who wanted help determining her target audience and SEO keywords. We had an initial chat about her business before I began researching keywords. I offered advice on how to use the keywords and gave tips on editing content.

Peak Cycling UK - marketing content

I was asked to help with online marketing (social media content, advertising, and guest blogging) to promote a new cycling holiday in Scotland. This involved writing short form content for social media, and using my network of contacts to find blogging platforms to share interesting information about the trip.

Pears and Paprika - web & blog content

Pears and Paprika was a new plant-based recipe website and needed web copy prior to launching. This included blog posts to share nutritional information and tips for those embarking on a plant-based lifestyle.

The Outdoor City - blog posts

When Sheffield City Council launched their new tourism based website, they commissioned me to write a series of blog posts.

Topics covered included climbing, walking, and mountain biking in the Peak District.

AA Publishing - walking guidebook

AA Publishing commissioned me to field check, research and re-write a selection of walks in their popular AA guidebook ‘50 Walks in the Peak District’. This involved walking each of the routes, ensuring the descriptions were accurate, reviewing the maps, and working within their deadline.

JR Nicholls Publishing - proofreading

After writing a walking guidebook - Walking in the Upper Dearne Valley - for JR Nicholls Publishing, I was asked to proofread and provide editing suggestions for ‘Castles of Eden’ written by popular guidebook author Mark Richards. This work included checking for errors and ensuring text continuity.

Ride Holme - website design & content

Newly established mountain bike guide, Ride Holme, requested website design and content to promote his business. The website was a Squarespace 7.0 design.

TGO Magazine - magazine article

Published magazine article on a walking route in The Quantocks. This included researching the route, field checking by walking, ensuring route direction accuracy, creating the route map, and writing the content in line with the magazine’s style guidelines and deadline.

JR Nicholls Publishing - walking guidebook

I was contracted by JR Nicholls Publishing to research, field check and write a new walking guidebook, published under my own name. Ranked #6 in the Top 10 non-fiction books at Read (Holmfirth) bookshop in August 2019.
