How to repurpose 1 blog post into 20 pieces of social media content
Producing a blog post takes time and effort. First you have to come up with a topic before researching what information and SEO keywords to include. Only then can you sit down and write the actual content. But, before you hit publish, a good chunk of time still needs to be spent editing and polishing up the final version.
When you’re busy producing whatever it is you produce for your customers, you may be wondering whether investing in your blog even gives you a return. To answer that question, YES it does! Read my post Why have a blog for your business to find out how it can help market your business.
But, there’s also a great way to get more mileage from just one blog post and it’s called repurposing content.
What is repurposing blog content?
In a nutshell, repurposing content is all about taking your blog post and using it to quickly create extra pieces of content and reach more people. It saves you time and money by simplifying the process for producing social media content.
Here are a few more benefits to repurposing your content:
Helps your SEO by giving more opportunities to use keywords and driving traffic to your original post.
Increases awareness of your brand because you’re seen digitally more often and in more places.
Gives your content a longer lifespan because you’re producing repurposed content which points back to the original post.
Enables you to reach a wider audience by producing the type of content they like to see (eg. videos, text, graphics).
